Photographer
Every frame holds
a feeling.
To me, photography is not merely the act of taking a picture; it is the art of exposing raw emotion and creating a narrative with light and shadow. It is a way of seeing the world through the eyes of others, while simultaneously trusting my own intuition to capture what is hidden in plain sight.

Capturing movement,
stillness, and story.
Every photograph is a reflection of my inner world, but what I love most about photography is how it connects us all. My favorite part of this journey has been hearing the different ways people connect with my work, often pointing out aspects of a photo that I hadn't even noticed myself. A single image can evoke a thousand different emotions and interpretations, and it's helped me to appreciate the beauty in everyday environments.

About Me
I'm Emily Bauwens, a 26-year-old photographer with a day job as a lawyer.
Ever since I was young, I looked forward to heading to our local Missourian Walmart with my mom after a family vacation to pick up the newly developed film and inspect what she captured. As I got older, I began printing my favorite photos and collaging them into scrapbooks in order to preserve memories of my travels and various chapters of my life. However, it wasn't until I received a Fujifilm x100T as a law school graduation gift from my beautiful girlfriend, Winnie, that I truly dove into the art of photography. Between the hours of bar exam study, I found solace in learning the intricate dance of photography. When I wasn't drowning in the rules of evidence, I worked on mastering the delicate art of framing, lighting, and editing.
Now, I bring my camera almost everywhere I go, ready to snap a shot at a moment's notice. I hope you enjoy looking at my pictures half as much as I enjoyed taking them!
